Beach Energy is seeking an experienced and operations‑focused Senior Process Engineer to drive plant performance across our SA & WA onshore facilities. This is a high‑impact role for a technically strong engineer who thrives in fast‑paced operating environments and enjoys working closely with frontline teams.

 

As a key part of our Onshore Operations division, you will take ownership of processing performance, operating envelopes and constraint management to ensure safe, reliable and optimised gas and oil

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Lead Operations Engineer, you will work closely with Production, Operations Supervisors, field teams and specialist technical experts to deliver strong operational performance.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning process performance across all SA & WA onshore assets, ensuring plant throughput and reliability.
  • Monitoring operating envelopes and performance trends, identifying optimisation and debottlenecking opportunities.
  • Providing frontline support during abnormal operations, start‑ups, shutdowns and plant upsets.
  • Leading or supporting incident investigations, troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
  • Overseeing process‑related MOCs and participating in HAZOP, HAZID and LOPA activities.
  • Contributing process engineering input to brownfield modifications and technical reviews.
  • Maintaining process safety documentation, philosophies and operating limits aligned to actual plant capability.
  • Championing safe work practices, sustainability outcomes and inclusive workplace culture.

About You

 

As a process engineer with practical operational judgement, you are someone who enjoys being close to the field, partnering with operators and applying your technical expertise to real‑world challenges. You will bring:

 

  • Demonstrated experience in brownfield operating environments.
  • Proven ability to improve performance in gas and oil processing systems.
  • Specific understanding of compressors, including setup and optimisation.
  • Strong capability with operating envelopes, constraint management and debottlenecking.
  • Experience supporting frontline operations through troubleshooting and abnormal condition management.
  • A solid foundation in process safety (HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor’s degree relating to Process Engineering.
  • Ability to travel to remote field locations as required
