Beach Energy is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to support the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance and operations of our Otway Gas Plant. This role is key to ensuring plant integrity, operational continuity and the safe delivery of maintenance activities across the site.

About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will deliver day-to-day mechanical maintenance and support operational activities across the plant, including maintenance, technical integrity and plant modification works.
You will contribute to both routine and breakdown maintenance, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with procedural and technical requirements.
Working closely with Operations, Maintenance and key internal stakeholders, you will play an important role in maintaining plant performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Executing routine and breakdown maintenance activities in line with HSE, quality and efficiency requirements
- Supporting safeguarding and technical integrity maintenance activities
- Contributing to plant monitoring, reporting and identification of maintenance requirements
- Participating in risk and safety reviews, including HAZOP, LOPA and operational risk assessments
- Supporting construction and commissioning activities for plant modifications
- Ensuring compliance with all procedures and technical instructions
About You
You bring a strong safety mindset, a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a team-focused environment.
Additionally:
- Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline (Fitter & Turner preferred)
- Experience in a similar industry environment
- Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to analyse and resolve technical issues
- The ability to communicate with a collaborative approach
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
- Commitment to continuous improvement and process safety
Desirable experience includes offshore exposure, relevant certifications (e.g. BOSIET, MSIC), and additional technical capabilities such as rigging, alignment or vibration analysis.
