Beach Energy is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Technician to support the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance of our New Zealand Kupe Operations.

 

Our role is based near Hāwera and will include regular visits to our Kupe offshore Wellhead Platform operation. For candidates based in New Plymouth, transportation can be provided to get to our facility.

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Integrated Works Superintendent, you will deliver mechanical maintenance activities across offshore facilities, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting operational continuity.

 

You will contribute to both planned and reactive maintenance, while supporting inspections, shutdowns and improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.

 

Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and other key stakeholders, you will play an important role in ensuring maintenance work is executed safely, efficiently and in line with operational requirements.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing planned and breakdown maintenance activities across plant and equipment
  • Maintaining rotating and mechanical equipment to meet performance and reliability targets
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting and carrying out repairs
  • Supporting inspections, compliance activities and plant shutdowns
  • Updating maintenance systems and contributing to preventative maintenance plans
  • Supervising contractors on site where required
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participating in an on-call roster

About You

 

You bring a strong safety mindset, a proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a team-focused environment.

 

Additionally:

  • Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline (Fitter & Turner preferred)
  • New Zealand citizen or permanent resident with a current NZ driving licence
  • Experience in a similar industry environment
  • Able to interpret technical drawings, documentation and procedures
  • Experience in the maintenance of rotating equipment would be beneficial
  • Experience in the use of CMMS (SAP would be advantageous)
  • Certifications (e.g. BOSIET, Common PTW) would be welcome
  • The ability to communicate with a collaborative approach
