Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for the energy sector? Beach Energy is now seeking a suitably experienced professional to lead our high-performing Energy Trading Team.

About the Role

This new role will require overseeing the effective management of our Domestic energy portfolio, optimising commercial outcomes, maximising revenue from short terms sales and trading, and ensuring market compliance and You will lead the team and drive trading and commercial decisions, while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing Energy Trading team in a dynamic 24/7 environment.
• Optimising the supply portfolio and gas transport positions to maximise revenue and minimise costs.
• Leading and overseeing the day-to-day commercial and operational management of gas and liquids sale, transportation and storage agreements.
• Trading and selling gas across Short Term Markets including the Gas Supply Hub (GSH), Short Term Trading Markets (STTM), and the Victorian Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM).
• Ensuring compliance with National Gas Rules, Gas Market Code, and market procedures.
• Developing and executing short-term marketing and trading agreements and strategies.
• An opportunity to be hands-on and part of the roster working 1:6 weekends.

About You

With proven experience in the energy, utility or resource sector, you possess extensive knowledge of energy commercialisation and have previously worked as a gas duty trader. Your high attention to detail and strong compliance mindset are complemented by your demonstrable experience in complex problem-solving and influencing others. You thrive in a fluid environment with high levels of uncertainty and have a proven track record in navigating complex and dynamic commercial and market settings. Additionally, your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to effectively lead and collaborate with diverse teams.
