You will have the unique opportunity to influence industry outcomes, collaborate with leading partners, and make a significant impact in one of Australia’s most dynamic sectors.

In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind our market entry and commercial agreements, contract management, and regulatory compliance as Beach Energy expands its footprint in the gas and electricity markets. Your entrepreneurial spirit will be key as you negotiate with partners, develop innovative strategies to maximise financial returns from gas assets, and help shape the company’s commercial operations for a competitive edge in the power market. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to leverage your creativity and business acumen to propel Beach Energy’s growth and success.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing electricity market entry strategies
- Leading commercial negotiations and managing agreements (PPAs, hedge contracts, etc.)
- Monitoring market conditions, regulatory changes, and performance indicators
- Ensuring compliance with energy regulations and reporting obligations
- Designing and implementing risk management frameworks
- Collaborating across business units and with external stakeholders
If you are based in Melbourne, regular visits to our Adelaide Head Office will be required to ensure strong collaboration and alignment with our broader strategy and commercial team.
About You
The ideal candidate is a strategic and commercially astute leader with proven experience in the NEM, including negotiation, trading, and risk management. You thrive in fast-paced environments, excel at communicating complex ideas, and are adept at building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, as well as across both industry and government sectors. A proven track record of building, managing or improving teams within this market is essential. Your analytical mindset, creative problem-solving approach, and sound decision-making skills will be instrumental in driving Beach Energy’s success in the electricity market.
