Beach Energy is seeking a Senior Manager Financial Reporting to lead the Group’s external reporting, accounting policy and statutory compliance activities across the organisation. 

 

This role plays a critical part in ensuring Beach Energy meets all ASX reporting, statutory and accounting standard obligations, while providing high quality financial insight and advice to the Executive team, Audit and Risk Committee and Board. 

 

Working closely with senior finance leaders, auditors and key internal stakeholders, you will support robust governance, accurate financial reporting and informed decision making across the Group. 

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Group Controller, the Senior Manager Financial Reporting is responsible for managing the delivery of half year and full year statutory reporting, overseeing external audits, and maintaining the integrity of monthly and quarterly consolidated Group results. 

 

You will lead the development and application of Group accounting policies, oversee the implementation of new or revised accounting standards and provide expert technical accounting advice on contracts, transactions and commercial arrangements. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of half year and full year consolidated statutory financial statements, including Audit and Risk Committee and Board papers. 
  • Oversee all external audit engagements, including Group, subsidiary, joint venture and specialist audits. 
  • Ensure timely, accurate and compliant ASX reporting, including quarterly results reporting. 
  • Maintain the integrity of monthly and quarterly consolidated results, including reconciliations. 
  • Oversee the development, implementation and communication of Group accounting policies. 
  • Monitor and implement new and revised accounting standards, including impact assessment and stakeholder communication. 
  • Provide technical accounting advice on transactions, contracts and proposed commercial arrangements. 
  • Oversee specialised accounting areas including restoration, leasing and embedded derivatives. 
  • Support strong financial governance through systems, process and control oversight, including SAP. 
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation and efficiency in financial reporting processes. 
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors. 
  • Lead and mentor finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
