Beach Energy is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the preparation of high‑quality external reporting and technical accounting expertise across the Group.

 

This role plays an important part in the preparation of half-year and year-end statutory reporting, Audit & Risk Committee papers, and the development and application of Group accounting policies. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, you’ll help ensure Beach’s financial reporting and disclosures meet all relevant accounting standards.

 

As part of Beach Energy’s Finance function, you’ll contribute to robust governance, accurate reporting and continuous improvement, while working in a collaborative environment that values professionalism, accountability and technical excellence.

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst provides support across statutory and external reporting, technical accounting, policy development and financial reporting processes.

 

You’ll assist with half-year and year-end reporting, research and assess accounting impacts of contracts and transactions, support the implementation of new or revised accounting standards, and manage a range of recurring financial reporting and statutory requirements.

 

This role is well suited to an experienced accounting professional who enjoys technical problem-solving, working across complex reporting requirements and partnering with stakeholders to deliver accurate and compliant outcomes.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with half-year and year-end consolidated statutory accounts, including preparation of supporting documentation for the Board, Audit & Risk Committee and auditors.
  • Preparing annual subsidiary company accounts, debt facility reporting and other audit-related requirements, including overseas reporting obligations.
  • Supporting preparation and reporting under the Payment Times Reporting Scheme.
  • Researching accounting impacts and disclosure requirements for contracts and proposed transactions.
  • Managing processes such as subsidiary solvency reviews, recapitalisations and intercompany loan and investment provisioning.
  • Managing month-end tasks and journals including depreciation and depletion, lease accounting, capitalised interest and joint venture cash contribution reclassifications.
  • Managing lease accounting activities, including contract reviews, assumptions, journals, reconciliations and budget/forecast analysis.

About You

 

We’re looking for a financial professional with a high level of accuracy, sound judgement and the ability to work collaboratively across the business. You’re comfortable working with complex accounting matters, managing competing priorities and engaging with auditors and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.

 

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Business or similar
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
  • Experience developing and documenting accounting policies
  • Experience in a chartered firm or accounting role within a large or complex organisation
  • Oil and gas industry experience or large group reporting or auditing experience (highly desirable)
