About the Role

As a Legal Counsel at Beach Energy, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal counsel and representation on matters related to our energy and commercial projects. You will manage legal relationships, draft and negotiate documentation, and ensure compliance with legal obligations. Your expertise will help us maximise corporate opportunities and navigate the complexities of the energy sector.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide and coordinate legal services for joint ventures, contractual, title, regulatory, and commercial issues.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage various agreements, including service agreements, consultancy agreements, purchase orders, and confidentiality arrangements.
• Handle acquisitions and divestments of energy assets, petroleum sale and purchase agreements, and gas and liquids transportation agreements.
• Monitor legislative changes, provide legal input into risk management processes, and develop legal strategies.
• Collaborate with the legal team, provide feedback on external legal services, and support major projects.

About You

You have a current Australian practising certificate as a legal practitioner and possess 3 – 5 years of post-admission experience in diverse legal practice. Your advanced verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and negotiating skills, and demonstrable commercial acumen make you an ideal candidate. You are a proactive decision-maker with the ability to deliver practical outcomes to legal issues.
