Beach Energy is looking for a bold, commercially savvy subsurface leader to own the next wave of exploration growth and new venture capture across Australasia. Reporting to the EVP, Exploration & Subsurface, you’ll steer portfolio choices and support merger and acquisition activities that enhance Beach’s asset base and deliver the group Vision and Strategy.  

You’ll be accountable for the provision of key subsurface services from regional and new venture project delivery to exploration portfolio planning and modelling to lift performance across Beach’s portfolio and meet corporate targets.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Lead new ventures evaluations and recommendations, supporting approvals aligned to corporate strategy and growth vision.
• Own the exploration portfolio & inventory (including the annual refresh) and contribute to group exploration strategy.
• Drive regional basin evaluation and prospectivity studies to surface the best opportunities.
• Provide and manage subsurface M&A support to corporate business development.

About You

You have extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, ideally across multiple Australasian sedimentary basins, with deep expertise in petroleum systems, subsurface assessment, and petroleum economics. Your background spans exploration, geoscience, reservoir engineering, and production projects, and you’re skilled at identifying strategic opportunities and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams. A tertiary qualification in Geology or Geophysics is essential, along with strong communication, prioritisation, and collaboration skills.
