Beach Energy is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Environmental Advisor to join us on contract for 12 months to support and elevate our environmental compliance, performance, and assurance capability across the business. Post 12 months, there may be an opportunity to join on a permanent basis.
In this highly impactful role, you’ll help shape how Beach manages its environmental obligations by developing fit‑for‑purpose systems, improving regulatory reporting accuracy, strengthening assurance frameworks, and embedding high‑quality environmental practices across operational teams.

About the Role
Reporting to the Environment Team Leader, you will become a trusted advisor, working collaboratively with operations, HSE, engineering, production teams, and external stakeholders to lift performance and support the delivery of Beach’s environmental commitments.
Responsibilities will include:
- Designing and deploying fit for purpose systems, processes and tools to strengthen environmental regulatory compliance and assurance across the organisation.
- Enhancing the accuracy and reliability of National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) and waste management reporting, ensuring timely and high‑quality data for external submissions.
- Coordinating the development of a centralised tool to track environmental commitments across all operational and project Environmental Plans.
- Supporting contract owners and operational teams to embed environmental requirements into planning and execution.
- Providing technical advice to inform environmental plan development and implementation.
- Supporting chemical risk assessments and broader chemical management processes.
- Establishing and maintaining assurance frameworks that help prevent incidents and drive continuous improvement.
- Regularly engaging with regulators, joint venture partners and specialist consultants.
About You
You’re a motivated and adaptable environmental professional who brings strong technical capability and a proactive mindset. You will also need:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering or a related field.
- Experience in environmental roles within the oil and gas, resources or similar sectors.
- A strong understanding of relevant environmental legislation, standards and regulatory processes, ideally within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience with environmental or integrated management systems and environmental impact assessments.
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional strengths such as auditing experience, investigation skills, or direct oil and gas production experience are considered advantageous.
