This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in Australia’s dynamic gas, electricity and liquids markets, supporting strategic decisions that drive the energy transition.

About the Role

As an Energy Markets Analyst, you will be at the forefront of market intelligence modelling, analysing, and forecasting trends across east and west coast gas and power markets, global LNG, and domestic and international liquids. Your insights will directly influence trading, commercial, and strategic decisions, helping Beach Energy navigate regulatory changes, competitor moves, and evolving customer demand.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining market models and forecasts to support trading and commercial strategies.
• Monitoring and analysing trends in gas, electricity, and liquids markets, providing actionable insights.
• Assessing the impact of regulatory and market changes, delivering clear recommendations.
• Creating and presenting data-driven reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborating with internal teams and liaise with external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies.

About You

You are a proactive analyst with a passion for energy markets and a knack for turning complex data into clear, actionable insights.

You bring previous experience in energy market analysis, economics, or trading, with a strong grasp of Australia’s power and gas markets and global liquids. You’re highly skilled in data analysis and market modelling, using tools like Excel, SQL, or Python, and you communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Your tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field underpins your analytical approach, and you thrive in fast-paced environments, collaborating across teams and adapting quickly to change.
