9-month fixed term contract to support our team’s short / medium requirements!

 

Beach Energy is seeking a contracts & procurement professional for approximately 9 months to cover a short-term requirement in the team.

 

This role sits within our Finance & Corporate Services division and plays a critical role in connecting stakeholders with the Contracts & Procurement (C&P) function to drive timely and cost-efficient outcomes.

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Contracts & Procurement Lead, you will support our operations by working on procurement processes, and ensuring transparency, compliance, and strong supplier performance across the contract lifecycle.

 

You will seek to understand procurement requirements, support sourcing strategies and the execution of end-to-end contracting activities. This is a great role for someone to leverage their transferrable skills and develop a skillset in the contracts and procurement arena.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with the business to identify and document procurement and supply chain requirements
  • Supporting tendering, evaluation, negotiation, contract drafting, award, and execution
  • Maintaining awareness of market conditions to support effective sourcing outcomes
  • Supporting supplier relationship management and identifying long-term supply opportunities
  • Coordinating input from cross-functional teams including HSE, Finance, Legal, ESG, and Logistics
  • Supporting contract governance, performance monitoring, variations, and dispute resolution
  • Ensuring contract and supplier master data is accurate and maintained in systems

About You

 

We are looking for someone who brings commercial capability, stakeholder engagement skills, and the interest in managing procurement activities in a dynamic environment.

 

You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Legal, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience in procurement and contracting activities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of contract structures, ideally including any legal and commercial components
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning tools
