About the Program

Running from 30th November 2026 to 19th February 2027, Beach Energy’s paid Summer Vacation Program puts you inside real onshore projects where engineering, operations and digital technology come together.

As a Summer Vacation Student in our Onshore division, you’ll see how industry and technology work together in the real world, through field surveillance, routine checks, operational workflows, data and conversations with the people closest to the assets.

You’ll work with engineers, operators and digital specialists to understand where better tools can help people capture information, streamline workflows, reduce manual work and support better decisions. You’ll build practical tools such as Power Apps, automations, AI agents and dashboards that help field and office teams work more efficiently.

This isn't a hypothetical university assignment. The solutions you build could be used by the business well after your placement ends.

Throughout the program, you will be supported by experienced professionals across the business, with opportunities to learn through day-to-day work, structured program activities, coaching, feedback and practical exposure to Beach Energy’s operations.

What You'll be Doing

You’ll get close to the operation, listen to users, test ideas quickly and build tools that make day-to-day tasks easier.

In this placement, you will have the opportunity to:

• Build Power Apps that make everyday work simpler, faster and easier for field and office teams.
• Automate repetitive tasks and approval workflows using Power Automate.
• Explore and develop AI agents that help people find information, complete tasks and make better-informed decisions.
• Work with engineers and operators to understand their work, test ideas and turn the best ones into usable solutions.
• Improve how operational data is captured, connected, presented and used.
• Take solutions from an initial idea through design, testing, user feedback and deployment.
• Demonstrate what you have built and show how it can deliver lasting value to the business.

By the end of the placement, you’ll have learned from experienced people, tested practical ideas and built tools that can keep delivering value after you leave.

About You

We’re looking for curious, practical students who learn quickly, ask good questions and enjoy building things that work.

You may be studying Engineering (Mechatronic, Robotics, Automation, Electrical) and/or a double degree with Mathematical and Computer Sciences. What matters most is your interest in technology, automation, data and AI — and your ability to turn ideas into practical outcomes.

To be eligible, you will:

• Have the right to work in Australia.
• Be in your penultimate year of a relevant degree.
• Be curious, proactive and eager to learn.
• Bring strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Be interested in automation, data, AI and digital technologies.
• Be comfortable turning ideas into practical solutions.
• Have experience with Power Platform, Power BI, Copilot, Python or SQL — helpful, but not essential.
