About the Program
Running from 30th November 2026 to 19th February 2027, Beach Energy’s paid Summer Vacation Program gives you the opportunity to gain practical industry experience, contribute to meaningful work and build the skills, confidence and networks that can help launch your career.
As a Summer Vacation Program - Engineering student, you will join our Safety & Technical division in Adelaide, supporting the Production team through a structured placement focused on engineering project support, production performance analysis, technical documentation and operational activities.
You will support assigned engineering projects, studies and operational activities through research, data analysis, calculations and documentation, while applying relevant production and engineering principles, standards and procedures under supervision.
Throughout the program, you will be supported by a dedicated mentor and buddy, with ongoing guidance, coaching and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals across the business.
Additionally, there will be the opportunity to visit one of our operational sites and see how the industry operates in practice, giving you exposure to activities not typically experienced at university.
What You'll be Doing
In this placement, you will support Safety & Technical by contributing to engineering projects and operational activities while developing technical capability, business understanding and professional skills.
- Supporting assigned engineering projects, studies and operational activities through research, data analysis, calculations and documentation.
- Assisting with the preparation, review and maintenance of technical reports related to production, engineering drawings, registers and project deliverables.
- Analysing production performance of an oil and/or gas asset to understand improvements in production outcomes and performance.
- Applying relevant production and engineering principles, standards and procedures under supervision to contribute to safe, reliable and efficient outcomes.
- Identifying and escalating technical issues, risks or improvement opportunities to supervisors or project leads in a timely manner.
- Communicating progress, findings and questions clearly through verbal updates, written documentation and presentations as required.
- Preparing and sharing program outcomes, project insights or learnings that demonstrate your contribution to the business and Vacation Program experience.

About You
We are looking for a motivated, curious and proactive engineering student who is interested in gaining real-world experience and exploring a potential career with Beach Energy.
To be considered, you will currently be in your penultimate year of a tertiary qualification in Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Have the right to work in Australia.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- An interest in the technical aspects of the oil and gas industry.
- Flexibility, adaptability, curiosity, accountability and a willingness to learn and apply feedback.
