About the Program

Running from 30th November 2026 to 19th February2027, Beach Energy's paid Summer Vacation Program gives you the opportunity to gain practical industry experience, contribute to meaningful work and build the skills, confidence and networks that can help launch your career.

As a Summer Vacation Program - Commercial student, you will join Strategy and Commercial division in Adelaide, supporting the Sales, Marketing, Trading and Commercial Operations team through a structured placement focused on commercial analysis, business research, stakeholder engagement and project-based work.

You will work on meaningful projects that contribute to actual business outcomes, gain hands-on experience rather than observing from the sidelines, and present findings and recommendations to Executive and Senior Leaders at the end of the program.

Throughout the program, you will be supported by a dedicated mentor and buddy, with ongoing guidance, coaching and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals across the business.

Additionally, there will be the opportunity to visit one of our operational sites and see how the industry operates in practice, giving you exposure to activities not typically experienced at university.

What You'll be Doing

In this placement, you will support the Commercial Operations & Trading team by applying commercial knowledge in a real business environment, while contributing to analysis, market monitoring and project-based work that supports informed decision-making and commercial outcomes. Additionally:

• Gathering, organising and interpreting business, market and operational information to support commercial analysis, trading activities and decision-making.
• Assisting with commercial operations and trading activities under supervision to build your understanding of energy markets, value drivers and commercial outcomes.
• Monitoring market conditions, pricing, supply-demand fundamentals and operational factors to help identify commercial opportunities and risks.
• Preparing clear summaries, reports and insights to support trading, optimisation and commercial recommendations.
• Working with data, assumptions and source material to support accurate and reliable analysis of market and commercial outcomes.
• Contributing to assigned project work that supports commercial operations, trading activities, strategic planning initiatives and business improvement opportunities.
• Researching energy market, regulatory and industry developments to support commercial strategy, trading activities and decision-making.
• Assisting with presentation material, briefing notes and reports that communicate market insights, project outcomes and commercial opportunities.
• Participating in meetings and discussions to build your understanding of Beach’s strategic priorities and how commercial decisions support business performance.

About You

We are looking for a motivated, curious and forward-thinking student who is interested in gaining real-world experience and exploring a potential career with Beach Energy.

To be considered, you will currently be in your penultimate year of a tertiary qualification in business, commerce or a relevant technical discipline, and available to complete the full Summer Vacation Program period in Adelaide.
